MY PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

Write your PDP based on the articles you wrote in Orientation to the program. Draft in it, what your main development objectives are in each study module. Suggest also topics and contexts for your development projects (one project focuses on teaching, learning & assessment, and the other one on organizations and networks).

MY PDP

In the first week of the course, we realize the activity where each of us chose in that quadrant would put the different competences shown in the guide.

My selection of compenteces shown in the following chart

After the analysis of this chart, I decided to select two of these competences as my goals for this course

I choose these two competences because I think are very important and I haven't a good skill of them, so this is the opportunity to better my ability in these competences.

I develop curricula and learning environments together with working life, students and colleagues.
During my years worked in SENA, I have not had the opportunity to participate in curriculum design. I know part of the process for making it, but have not had the challenge of designing a program from its beginning.

I always start my courses with an already elaborate structure, and neither I participated in the update of one of them.

My challenge is to design strategies that are commensurate with training programs.

I use student-oriented guidance & counselling and teaching methods, which strengthen intentional collaboration
In this professional and personal stage, I want to improve my skills to accompany students and help them reach their goals.

As a psychologist, I am aware that the personal sphere is fudamental to achieve results in technical areas, so I've tried every day to investigate and search strategies for human part is getting stronger in my students.

My identity as a teacher resides in always seeking human part of everything I do. That since I'm planning what I do in my class, I think make the best of each student. I want to deepen and research in the playful and use the game as a strategy to change lives. On the other hand, I want to retake knowledge as an engineer and make it available to these students, which I personally challenge to find how to join the ludic with the technical.

I would like to know more about ludic, pedagogy, coaching, NLP and Gestalt psychology, which is related to the way in helping people manage their emotions and thus make a healthy environment with all the conditions for continued their personal development . These areas complement the profile that I want for as an instructor, I would in the future be able to coach and help people achieve what they want.

On the other hand, I need urgently deepen communication skills. To be a good coach, I must be a good listener and that's one of my weaknesses, I always privilege talking than listening.

After a new reading to the guide, I understood a little better the structure of the course, and I do the following chart to understand how this can help me to achieve not only the two competences that I chose, either the other compentences.

The graph is reflected what I think I can learn during these modules, considering the information provided by the guide.

  1. Sor Yanet,
I should have started with reading your PDP (see previous comment regarding your reflections on the first contact week and first PDP session).
I think it was a good idea to open up the 2 selected competence criteria by telling what they mean to you in terms of competence development. It will not be possible for us to cover all the topics you have listed here in our pedagogical training but I encourage you to explore them by yourself and share your findings and related reflections in this blog (articles, videos, pics etc).
And congratulations for the personal artistic touch which makes your blog very appealing and reader friendly.
Looking forward to following your upcoming pedagogical adventures in this blog !
    Bw David
