MY TEACHING PRACTICE PLAN IN ACTION

MY VIDEO PART 1

MY VIDEO PART 2

BINGO (Step 1 - Learning)

In this video I give the instructions for the game of bingo. This activity aims to break the ice, apprentices know each other, I see how teamwork group how comply with the standards.

MALABARES (Step 1 - Learning)
This activity is done with balls of different colors. Each color represents a word that every apprentice must say almomento to throw it to his companion: name, favorite animal, color, attribute, defect. The goal is to know the name and some things about his teammates, especially attribute and defect that identify it.

HOW I AM? (Step 4 - Sincerity)

THE CHICKEN (Step 8 - Honesty)
In this video we see how a group of apprentices perform the activity called chicken. In the activitythe apprentices must pass the chicken to his partner's side without leaving falling. Who let die the chicken must answer a question about values.

FILM FORUM (Step 3 and 5 - Overcoming and Forgiveness)
During the quarter the apprentices see two films: "About time" and "My name is Khan". Depues need to reflect on the movies and post them on the Blackboard platform.

THE HUMAN KNOT (Step 7 - Fellowship)
After all join their hands chaotically, the group must try to re-form a circle holding hands and without being released.

THE STAR (Step 7 - Fellowship)
All apprentices form a circle together by hand. They are numbered from 1 to 2. numbers 1 recline forward while the two numbers pull backward.

WORD PUZZLE (Step 10 - Gratitude)
In pairs, the apprentices must find words related to the values to give a definition of them.

APPOINTMENTS CLOCK (Step 6 - Respect)

In the drawing of the clock each apprentice write the name of a classmate. With the names of twelve classmates and hours to meet with each one are started dating. During the meeting everyone talks about the future.

I AM CULTURE SENA (Step 2 - Rectitude)
This video was produced a group of apprentices as part of the campaign I am SENA culture.

After recalling these videos I come to the following conclusions:

1. If in my classes we do not laugh, it was not a good class.
2. If in my classes we do not reflect our live, it was not a good class.
3. If in my classes we do not met other classmates, it was not a good class.

I know I can do better things, but always thinking about those three reasons.

2 comentarios:

  1. Thanks for sharing all these well edited videos that display many different teaching and learning situations.

I will only comment on the 2 main ones. (comments on the second one in a different post later)

    First video

In the beginning, you are standing and are giving instructions for the Bingo activity. You take the time to give explanations that seem to be very clear. You do not write anything on the white board.
The students are sitting around a table which suggests that they can see and hear each other well.

    Questions:

Aren’t you and aren’t the students disturbed by the noise coming from the other classroom ?
How many are they in total in your group ?

    Then the learning environment changes.

    Question :

Is it still the same activity and the same group or a combination of several groups (different uniforms) ?
Who is the man in the white « coat » ? what is his role ? What is your role here ?

Then back to the same classroom where you ask students to form small groups by taking a count of 1 to 3. This time you use the white board while speaking.

    Questions:

Can you give the context of the activity (la isla) ?
Why do you think it is important to write on the board ?
Do you also use other methods to form small groups ?
What was the aim of the activity (sorry I can’t always hear your explanations with the music :)

Finally you are with a different group (?) in a different learning environment . All the participants seem to be having a lot of fun during this activity.

    Questions:

How long did it take ?
Was it in the beginning of the lesson ?
What time of the day was it (it seems to be dark outside) and did it affect the choice of method ?

You can answer these questions in your blog or as part of your comprehensive teaching practice assessment (in your blog or in a Google doc and then share a link to Moodle assignment area)

  2. Hello,
I watched the second video. It was good to notice that you use all kinds of interactive and collaborative activities in your teaching. Please, describe briefly these activities in your comprehensive assessment. What was the purpose of each of them ? How do they affect students' learning ?. David
